Wednesday
Went with some of my colleagues yesterday to a Taco Tuesday spot for lunch, after which we finished the day working at a coffee shop before heading out to a popular bar to celebrate St. Patrick's Day. It was my first time celebrating it since like 2021 or 2022.
Oh man, the beers flowed. Lots of meeting new people at that bar I now vaguely remember—except for a next-morning Instagram follow from the cute girl from Germany I talked with, which was a nice suprise—sadly, she was only in town for vacation. Though I'm a lager guy these days, I did have two pints of Guinness outside of the many green Sapporo's being offered. Maybe because this bar is British-owned, but it easily had the most next-level creamy Guinness pints that I've ever tasted in my life. Like, damn.
I typically do a late night weekday bar outing with friends at least once month, but this is my first time in 5 years doing it without the safety net of working remotely and counting on that one hour lunch nap. Even with my professional skills of hydrating and food after leaving a bar, it took extra mental rallying today to step outside.
Coming to on-site work with a hangover, even a mild one, is rough! Ordering a loaded tea for Tea Break Wednesday definitely helped, as did having a bigger-than-usual lunch. After powering through, the nice thing is tonight's sleep is going to be amazing.
